Therapeutics
Treatment
Philosophy
Drawing from a large repertoire of
Eastern and Western techniques, I customize every treatment to the
individual's needs and desires and employ a mixture of "Tui Na"
(Chinese Medical massage) along with other Traditional and Modern
modalities including acupuncture, cupping, Shiatsu, electro - magnetic
therapy, diet, and Herbology. Whether rehabilitation, relief from
specific pain and problems, or simple relaxation, revitalization and
enhanced performance is the goal, the treatment philosophy is as
follows:
1) The best therapy is never
painful , always as pleasurable and non-invasive as possible and
without soreness and "reactions" afterwards.
2) The client actively
participated in the process
both during the treatment with breath and visualization, and afterwards
by learning
to employ self-help techniques
such as pressure
points, corrective exercises, visualization,
and if desired, dietary changes, herbs, supplements, and health
promoting aids.
Wellness Vacation
We invite you to experience the positive effects of our wellness
vacations. Your personalized program is designed to enhance your
vacation with daily therapies and body treatments along with
educational and self help knowledge. You may choose from a variety of
options from a la carte therapeutics to a complete health program.
As a complete program, best value, I begin with a personalized 80
minute assessment and treatment. A personalized
daily treatment program is then customized to your needs and wants
including acupuncture, Chinese Herbal medicine, dietary cleanses,
massage, and body treatments. Furthermore, daily group instruction on
topics including basic Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, Chinese
Herbal Medicine, self diagnosis and self help, first aid remedies and
more as desired. A CD with Traditional Chinese Medicine theory is
given as well.
Since TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is really about the
observation of Nature, its rules, and its manifestation in our bodies,
mind, and spirit, getting out into Nature is key. Daily hikes and
outings are included. Our house is one of the origin houses on the
golf course, built in 1966, and as a native, I would be pleased to act
as a tour guide to some great local hikes.
Food, herbs, cleansers, etc. Diet is a huge factor in health and will
be covered. Breakfast will be supplied a la bed and breakfast style,
only
generally much healthier. (fresh fruits, whole grain cereals (cooked
and raw) and breads, and some suprise recipes) I could bring in
a gourmet cook if that is desired, but as part of keeping it simple,
affordable, co-operative, and educational, the main meal(s) will be
shared, either as a group or by groups.
Off Season rates April - June :
There is a 3 day minimum and group discounts will apply. The
retreats are generally consolidated from Thursdays through Sundays ,
but let me know your particular need. Single occupancy is $133
per night. Double occupancy is $200 ($100 per person) per
night.
Group rates. If you have a few couples, or a group of friends who would
like to go at together, there is a buy 3, get one free discount.Other
discounts may apply, just tell me your situation. Although the house
can sleep up to 12 vert comfortably, I am limiting occupancy to 6
persons per retreat, unless you have a coherent group.
Again this includes both room, breakfast (and snacks), and 80
minute therapy (first day) and 60 minute therapy each day after. Plus I
will be offering instruction and education about Chinese Medicine and
related topics .There will also be available DVD's on related topics.
Although TV is not a recommended part of a retreat, several bedrooms do
have private TV with cable.. There is also a hot tub (recommended) and
a Sauna (great for cleansing).
A daily flow would loosely involve breakfast and morning hike. This
followed by lunch and learning. Afternoons are free time for resting,
reading, watching a dvd, shopping, cooking (meals are shared) or more
outing. Treatments will be scheduled all afternoon. Dinner time and
then some group time around the fire to talk story and share more
information as desired.. Again this is a loose flow chart.
OPTIONS a la carte
If you would rather just get a room
and add on..
Rooms rates are $90 per
night single occupancy, $135 per night double occupancy with the 3 day
minimum stay. Breakfast is included.
